Matthew Bourne, creator of the famous male swans of his modern reinvention of Swan Lake, is to launch the nationwide screening of a spectacular new 3D film of his creation, along with a live Q&A - and we have free tickets to be won for this exclusive event. UPDATE: Competition now expired.
Swan Lake will be given its premiere 3D screening on Monday 14 May, followed by the Q&A session with Bourne, the film's director Ross McGibbon and the producer Fiona Morris. The session, held at the Curzon Soho, 99 Shaftesbury Avenue, London W1D 5DY, will be chaired by theartsdesk's Ismene Brown.
The new Swan Lake 3D film stars Richard Winsor doubling as the lead Swan and the leather-clad stranger who bewitches and bamboozles the Prince and his corgi-loving mother, the Queen. When Ismene saw the rough-cut, she wrote that 3D “brings an immediacy in experiencing dance in theatre that will reach countless numbers who can never see it on stage.”
The movie is rated PG, and will be on nationwide screening at digital cinemas throughout Britain from 14 May - information from more2screen here.
The premiere screening is at 6.15pm on Monday 14 May at the Curzon Soho, 99 Shaftesbury Avenue, London W1D 5DY (nearest tube Leicester Square) with the Q&A following at approximately 8.30pm.

The stage version of Swan Lake premiered in 1995 at Sadler's Wells Theatre, starring Adam Cooper and Scott Ambler, and was filmed in 2D in 1996. The production became a world phenomenon, with tours throughout America, Australian and the Far East, winning more that 30 top accolades in the major theatrical awards of Broadway, Los Angeles and the UK.
The new 3D film was made last year after the production's triumphant return to Sadler's Wells with a cast led by Richard Winsor, the star of several Bourne productions including Edward Scissorhands and Dorian Gray (also currently Father Francis in Hollyoaks). Directed by ballet-film veteran Ross McGibbon, it has been simultaneously shot in 2D - the 2D version is due for release on DVD in September.
