2011 Barclaycard Mercury Music Prize nominations announced

2011's most high-end music prize nominations are announced

The nominations for the 2011 Barclaycard Mercury Music Prize were announced earlier today. Beyond PJ Harvey and Elbow having won before, nothing wildly surprising cropped up.

Here they are:

Adele: 21
Anna Calvi: Anna Calvi
James Blake: James Blake
Elbow: Build a Rocket Boys!
Everything Everything: Man Alive
Ghostpoet: Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam
PJ Harvey: Let England Shake
Katy B: On a Mission
King Creosote & Jon Hopkins: Diamond Mine
Metronomy: The English Riviera
Gwilym Simcock: Good Days at Schloss Elmau
Tinie Tempah: Disc-Overy

The prize will be announced on 6 September
