New US blockbuster is crammed with shocks, dramas and crises

President Martinez (Blair Underwood) and family keep an eye out for falling aircraft in 'The Event'

Don’t you hate it when you have weeks like the ones poor Sean Walker, played by mini-Tom Cruise Jason Ritter, has been having? You go on a relaxing Caribbean cruise with your bride-to-be Leila (Sarah Roemer), you get friendly with another couple, then find out they're part of a huge conspiracy and have just kidnapped your fiancée. Then you discover that any trace of your presence on the cruise ship has been erased.

The President keeps discovering unknown unknowns, much to his fury and disgust, such as the fact that the CIA has been detaining 97 aircrash survivors in Alaska since 1944

How many eisodes are there in this series?

Hi Diane. There will be 22 episodes in series 1.

How many series are there going to be? Is it going to drag on like lost?

Episode 4 - I really don't see why they bothered with an elaborate escape plot for Leila so she would be recaptured and make a call to her husband Sean so they could track him; she was already held captive - they could have just let her find a charged phone ......

All the to-ing and fro-ing is getting me giddy. Don't the makers think we can follow a long involved plot in chronological order. Imagine Gone With The Wind being given the same treatment!
