Booking has opened for San Francisco Ballet's first London season in eight years, at Sadler's Wells 14-23 September. Ten works will be performed, nine of them new to London, including work by Mark Morris, Christopher Wheeldon, Ashley Page, Yuri Possokhov and SFB director Helgi Tomasson. The historic jewel will be George Balanchine’s Divertimento No 15.  Wheeldon, now tied to the Royal Ballet as artistic associate, was championed as a young choreographer by Tomasson, where he made three ballets to be shown in London for the first time: Within the Golden Hour (2008), Wheeldon’s Ghosts (2010) and Number Nine (2011). Ashley Page's first work for SFBallet, Guide to Strange Places, and Mark Morris's Beaux (his eighth work for SFB) are also expected to be highlights. Music, including Mozart, Martinů, Ezio Bosso, Michael Torke Ash and John Adams, will be played by a British orchestra under SFBallet conductor Martin West.  San Francisco Ballet has previously performed in London in 1999, 2001 and 2004.
