BAFTA's 2012 television awards nominees announced
The nominations have been announced for the 2012 BAFTA television awards, which will be held on 27 May. Among the leading role noms are Benedict Cumberbatch for Sherlock, Dominic West as murderer Fred West and his co-star Emily Watson in ITV1's Appropriate Adult, Romolai Garai for The Crimson Petal and the White, and John Simm for Exile. Comedy-wise, Jennifer Saunders is tipped for Absolutely Fabulous, Tom Hollander gets the nod for Rev, and both Olivia Colman and Hugh Bonneville are nominated for their roles in Twenty Twelve. Under Drama Series we find Spooks, Scott and Bailey, Misfits and The Fades (wot, no Downton?), while Borgen and The Killing join Modern Family and The Slap in the International section.
